Hiking in Nepal
Nepal is popular destination for hiking and trekking holidays. Nepal Hiking and walking holidays offer superb Himalayan views, lush valley, beautiful landscape, cultural heritage sites, rural people and their culture. Nepal has various destinations for hiking and walking. This is not a vehicle to vehicle sightseeing tour nor it is a strenuous walk in the mountain. At the end of the trip you will have those sweet memories to treasure for lifetime. Hiking and trekking are a form of walking with a purpose of exploring and enjoying the scenery and natural wilderness. Both takes place on trails in rural or wilderness areas but a Hiking in Nepal is considered shorter than a trekking in Nepal.
Hiking in Nepal is popular among those travelers who want to do trekking but do not have sufficient time. A typical hiking has duration of 1 to 3 days. You just drive to a start point of a trail and begin the hiking. Or you can say drive to base of a hill and hike up to the top. It is generally 3 to 5 hours hiking through villages and wooded forest and stay in a modern hotel or resort. No need to hire a porter just has a guide for companion. Your belongings will be taken to your destination by car. You just need small back pack to carry mineral water, your valuables things, off course camera and lunch packet, etc.
Nagarjun Hill Hiking
It is one of the famous Buddhist stupa on the Nagarjuna Hill which is about 7km. from Kathmandu on western skyline. A motorable road leads through Raniban (Queen forest) to this stupa. It takes about 45 minutes to reach there in motor/jeep while hike is about 5 km. on foot and takes about 2 hours. It is quite steep and one has to climb about 754 m. in altitude as the stupa is situated on the top of the Nagarjuna hill at 2128m. altitude. Nagarjuna hill is also described in literature as Vindya mountain.
